Requirements for construction of hospital sewage treatment equipment

1. Site selection, safety distance and protective isolation requirements of the processing station

The choice of the location of the treatment station should be determined according to factors such as the overall planning of the hospital, the location of the discharge outlet, environmental hygiene requirements, wind direction, engineering geology, maintenance management and transportation.

1.1 The location of the hospital sewage treatment structure should be set in the downwind direction of the hospital building in the local summer dominant wind direction.

1.2 The hospital sewage treatment facilities shall maintain a certain distance from the wards, residential areas and other buildings, and shall be provided with green protection belts or isolation belts.

1.3 Fences or enclosed facilities should be set around the sewage treatment station, and the height should not be less than 2.5m.

1.4 The sewage treatment station should be left with the possibility of expansion; it is convenient for construction, operation and maintenance.

1.5 The sewage treatment station should have convenient transportation, transportation and hydropower conditions; it is convenient for sewage discharge and sludge storage and transportation.

1.6 Sewage treatment stations of infectious disease hospitals and general hospitals containing infectious wards should have their production management buildings and living facilities centrally arranged, with reasonable location and orientation stress, and should be strictly isolated from treatment structures and buildings.

2. Design requirements of treatment structures and buildings

2.1 Treatment structures, buildings and main equipment should be divided into two groups, each group is calculated according to 50% load.

2.2 The treatment structure and building should take anti-corrosion and anti-leakage measures; to ensure the treatment effect, safe and durable, convenient operation, which is conducive to the labor protection of the operator.

2.3 Sewage treatment structures shall be provided with emptying facilities, and the discharged water shall be returned to the treatment.

2.4 In cold areas, anti-freezing measures shall be taken for the handling of structures. When heating, the indoor temperature of the treatment structure can be designed at 5 ℃; the indoor temperature of the dosing room, inspection room and duty room can be designed at 15 ℃.

2.5 The overhead treatment structure shall be provided with suitable safety measures such as railings, anti-skid ladders and lightning rods.

2.6 The drainage of sewage treatment station should generally be discharged by gravity flow, and a drainage pump station can be set up if necessary.

3. Auxiliary facilities of the processing station and related requirements

3.1 In the design of the sewage treatment station, appropriate space should be reserved according to the overall plan.

3.2 According to the scale and specific conditions of the hospital, the processing station should be equipped with facilities such as duty, laboratory room, control room and contact telephone.

3.3 In the sewage treatment station, a stacking site for sludge, waste residue and medical waste can be set up in an appropriate place according to needs, but the above garbage must be strictly sealed.

3.4 The necessary measurement, safety and alarm devices shall be provided in the processing station.

4. Cost Analysis of Hospital Sewage Treatment Station

Calculate the capital construction cost according to the treatment process adopted by the hospital sewage treatment station, and calculate the operation cost based on the energy consumption, pharmaceutical consumption, operator’s salary and welfare fees, repair and maintenance fees and other expenses of the treatment station.

4.1 Capital construction costs

According to the different areas of the hospital, building form, emission destination, scale, and process flow, refer to the control indicators to calculate the capital construction cost of each process of hospital sewage treatment.

The primary treatment to enhance the treatment effect includes adjustment, coagulation and sedimentation, and disinfection.

Secondary biochemical treatment includes regulation, biochemical treatment and disinfection.

Small-scale biogas purification tank includes biogas purification tank and disinfection.

4.2 Operating costs

Calculate its cost according to the newly-built hospital, based on the investment of the processing plant, energy consumption, pharmaceutical consumption, operator’s wages and welfare fees, repair and maintenance fees and other expenses, and calculate with reference to the data of existing processing plants.

5. Greening

5.1 Hospital sewage treatment plants must be greened. Several flowers can be planted to beautify the environment.

5.2 Between the hospital sewage treatment plant and the ward or residential area, a green isolation zone should be planted as high as possible, capable of absorbing odor and purifying the air, to reduce the interference of odor and fan noise on patients or residents.

5.3 The sanitary work of the hospital sewage treatment plant is very important. The relatively easy breeding of mosquitoes and flies is a characteristic of sewage treatment plants, and effective measures must be taken to prevent them. Keep clean and tidy, civilized and sanitary.
