Mining Industry | Water Treatment Systems & Reverse Osmosis

Mining provides everything from oil, coal to electricity, ore, stone to metal. Without mining, we would not be able to design modern cities, and today we will no longer have all the so-called necessities. As the population’s demand for the mining industry increases and the desire to develop technology and industry as a whole, mining poses significant health, safety and environmental risks, all of which need to be addressed, which has caused a lot of attention. These risks are the subject of the modern world debate, and our responsibility is not only to provide us with these important resources of our staff, but also to provide the natural world and our solutions to find solutions to many problems in modern mining.

Membrane

The biggest problem with mining may come from waste. The extraction of metals and salts usually produces a large amount of waste on each product. These wastes usually consist of acidic substances that can affect the surrounding environment or permanently reduce natural water sources to toxic levels. CHIWATEC’s membrane systems can be specifically designed to meet any water purification needs, thereby greatly reducing the amount of waste generated during large-scale mining operations and preventing these wastes from being exposed to the surrounding environment. Many of these purified waters can also be reused in the same mining operation, reducing the loss of local water sources. It also provides a good source of water for on-site household use (shower, wash basin, toilet, etc.).

Metal mining produces a special type of waste called tailings, which causes an average of at least one mining disaster worldwide each year. Tailings is a kind of sludge, consisting of high-concentration waste dissolved in water, forming a kind of sludge, which is not only harmful to the environment but also ugly and difficult to handle. It is usually kept in large ponds for decades. Seeps into the bottom and the water evaporates. Harmful chemicals in tailings include arsenic (gold mining), cyanide, sulfuric acid, and many known carcinogens. A breakthrough technology using a high-pressure membrane system allows the tailings to be concentrated into large pieces, which can then be stacked to reduce floor space and no longer pose the risk of seeping into natural water sources. This long-term low-energy storage can be achieved using the CHIWATEC ultrafiltration system.

CHIWATEC’s mining solutions include:

  1. RO Water Treatment System
  2. Water softening
  3. Deionization
  4. Industrial filtration
